One of the first questions people ask about the Receipt Camera® is simple: “What is the difference between receipt paper and label sticker paper?” Both print black-and-white photos with the same thermal process, but they differ in whether the print sticks and in which models they fit. Your paper choice, the main consumable for this thermal photo booth, shapes how you run the experience, so it is worth getting right.
What they share: black-and-white prints, no ink
Receipt paper and label sticker paper both use a thermal process. No ink, film, or toner is involved; heat alone develops the image, and the consumable is simple, so reloading mid-event is easy.
That said, the two differ in texture. Receipt paper prints with a coarser, dot-forward look that reads as retro, while label sticker paper prints smoother, closer to a real black-and-white photograph. Pick the one that fits the mood you want.
Receipt paper: a universal consumable

Receipt paper is the same roll you see at a cafe, a convenience store, or a restaurant till. The Receipt Camera® uses rolls in 79×80mm or 79×70mm.
It is a universal consumable. You do not have to buy it from us. Any standard thermal receipt roll in that size, from a local supplier or an online marketplace in your region, works. It is easy to buy in bulk and easy to keep in stock.
The print comes out as a strip you can hold in your hand, just like a real receipt. It is a popular choice for visit-keepsake photos at cafes and restaurants, or as a printed giveaway from Receipt Camera® at a pop-up. In our use cases, the everyday permanent installations tend to run on this paper.
Receipt paper at a glance:
- Size: 79×80mm or 79×70mm
- Look: coarse, retro black-and-white
- Where to source: any local or online supplier of standard thermal receipt rolls
- Prints per roll: up to ~800
- Compatible models: PRO and MINI (every model in that line), plus PRO+ HYBRID
Label sticker paper: for prints you can stick

Label sticker paper has an adhesive backing, so you can peel the print and stick it wherever you like: a cup sleeve, a diary, a bag, a laptop lid.
The printing method is the same thermal black-and-white, but the smoother surface gives a softer result, closer to a real black-and-white photograph. It works only with PRO+ and PRO+ HYBRID, and it is supplied by Brief Company. For overseas orders, request it through the inquiry form below, since price and shipping depend on your region.
It is especially effective at pop-ups, brand events, and exhibitions, where you want visitors to peel a print and take it with them on the spot. The act of shooting a photo and receiving a sticker becomes content in itself.

Which paper fits which model
- The PRO line (PRO, PRO BUILT-IN, PRO WALL-MOUNT) and MINI: receipt paper only
- PRO+: label sticker paper only
- PRO+ HYBRID: works with both receipt paper and label sticker paper
PRO+ HYBRID supports both papers. You can switch between stickers and plain receipts depending on the moment, which makes it the most flexible model to operate.
To run receipt paper on PRO+ HYBRID, the receipt paper system option is required. If you only plan to use label sticker paper, no extra option is needed. Pricing for the option varies by region, so ask through the inquiry form below for the exact configuration.
